1 tsp honey
1/2 jar baby food
1/4 cup cooked meat, shredded or minced
1/4 cup shredded cheese
1/4 fresh vegetable of choice, minced
1/4 cup fresh fruit of choice, minced
Preheat oven to 350 degrees . Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Add water, egg, and oil to dry mixture. Add any optional ingredients. Stir until lumps of flour are gone. Refrigerate for about an hour.
Form the mixture into small balls and place them on a greased baking sheet. Make sure to space the balls about an inch or so apart.
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden and delicious. If you prefer them to be dry and crunchy then just lower the temperature to 250 and bake for 25 minutes. If you cook them this way they keep better.

The Two Things You Must Keep in Mind When Choosing Diabetic Dog Food
Your beloved pet has been diagnosed with Diabetes. While that is absolutely scary to hear, you can make easy changes to your dog’s diet that will ensure they live a normal, healthy, happy life with you and your family. Read on to find out what you need to keep in mind when choosing the perfect diabetic dog food.
The first thing that you need to keep in mind with a diabetic dog is that sugar intake should be limited. Diabetes is an insulin disorder and sugar intake will cause a huge spike in your dog’s insulin level. This is not a small thing. If you continuously feed a diabetic dog sugar you will throw their insulin levels off and they will get sicker and will die prematurely. Commercial dog foods are absolutely filled with sugar. Note that sugar is not always listed as sugar on the label. Companies are sneaky and you have to really learn how to detect sugar in the foods you feed your pet.
The second thing that you should control is how many carbohydrates your dog consumes in a day. Carbohydrate consumption will spike the insulin levels of your pet and will create all of the same problems that sugar will. Make sure that you feed your pet foods that are low in carbohydrates. Pet food companies do not make this easy on you. Commercial dog foods are absolutely loaded with carbohydrates and sugar.
One simple but very important change you can make is to feed your pet multiple small meals a day. A large meal will cause a huge insulin spike that will take many hours to lessen. The problem is that your dog’s body is being damaged the entire time. Small, spread out meals help control the insulin levels in your dog. It is important that you feed your pet good, balanced diabetic dog food. Just changing how often you feed your dog will not change anything if they are not eating solid food.
Even if your dog does not have diabetes you should be careful because constant exposure to high levels of sugar and carbohydrates actually causes diabetes in dogs and humans. If your pet does not have diabetes and you feed them the wrong foods you may be causing diabetes. If your pet is diabetic and you feed him commercial dog food you will shorten his life. The fact is, diabetic dog food is not just for dogs with diabetes.
